Day 60
60 days into my real estate career! I guess it is hard to say if things are going 'according to plan', becuase I didn't really have much idea where I would be at this point... That said, I have a couple of sales on the board, and haven't encountered any major setbacks thus far, so things are looking pretty good.
This morning I attended a seminar by one the Principal of the largest agency on the Gold Coast. He spoke about the things he felt were neccessary for success in real estate. The talk was interesting, and to a large degree (based on what I have seen and been told thus far) I agreed with a lot of what he said.
Tip of the Day:
Industry seminars are useful for a number of reasons beyond the free refreshments - not only are you likely to learn something new (or at the very least revise something useful that you may have forgotten about), but they are great for networking. The more agents you know in areas that you don't service, the better chance you have of being involved in deals outside your usual area.
Rather than simply saying to potential customers "I'm sorry, we don't have any listing in that area", you can say "Let me call a friend who works in that area, he/she may have something for you" and at the very least conjunct on the deal.
