Day 33

When is a day off not a day off?

When you work in real estate. OK, so I didn't go into the office, and I didn't have to put on the suit and tie (which was almost strange as I have been every day for the past month). However, that didn't remove the need for me to call people and follow up leads, not to mention answer phone calls and arrange my open home for the weekend.

I didn't really mind it, but it really hits home just how much this job becomes your life if you let it (which I have been up to now). I know some of my colleagues just ignore their phones for a day and follow up their messages when they return to work, but at this stage of the job, I am far too hungry to put myself in a position where I could miss out on a great opportunity simply because I didn't feel like answering the phone for a day.

Tip of the Day:

Make sure your phone has a message bank. Nothing is more annoying for clients than to be faced with the "Your number will be sent by SMS" message, or not having the chance to leave any information at all. If someone calls you and you can't answer it, make sure there is a chance for them to leave a proper message. You never know when someone will call to say "I am going to buy today, and I want to buy from you. Please call me back".
