Day 3

Things are continuing to roll, and roll well. A fair portion of my time is spent between visiting new buildings and drafting letters for my first set of mail-outs. Through a stroke of pure luck, one of the ladies I called today to discuss sales in my old project has requested my help in finding a new apartment. Let the fun begin! I have a few possibilities lined up, and will speak to her again tomorrow to arrange a time to go through them.

If you don't talk to people, nobody will tell you that they want you to sell them a home (or sell theirs). Simple as that.

I have also organised to spend some of my weekend at open homes with some of my colleagues to get a feel for how they operate - it won't be long before I have to do them myself. I may only be three days into the new job, but I am comfortable with it, and things are going exceedingly well.

Tip(s) of the Day:

1. As soon as possible, organise to go out with your office mates to see how they conduct open homes. This is important information, and the sooner you have it - the better.

2. With your first set of letters, keep in mind that they will barely be read before they hit the rubbish bin. Harsh, but true. Regardless of how good a letter you can write, you need to make sure it is clear concise and all your points will get across in the few seconds it takes the reader to scan it and bin it. Once you are a bit better known and you have spoken to (or even better, met) the people you are writing to, you can take your written material a bit further. There is no point writing a page full of text if none of the meaning is going to sink in.
