Day 19
Friday's over and things are shaping up for a good week to come. Tomorrow afternoon, I will, with luck, be a step closer to an apartment sale. My first keen buyer is going to an auction tomorrow and unless she buys there (and I don't think the property she is looking at will fall within her price range), I should be able to sell her a lovely apartment that we had a look at today.
In other positive news, I am a step closer to finding a block of land for my other buyers. That's two potential sales.... let's hope these ones stick.
I am off on another weekend of open homes, working both a $1.3 million beachfront apartment (The Boss' listing) and my own listing as well. I am less confident on these two, but if I can add to my list of potential buyers, it won't be a waste of my weekend.
Tip of the Day:
If you are planning on handing out material at an open home, simple flyers are not always your best bet. In fact, quite often they will find themselves in the first rubbish bin around the corner. Business cards can often fall into a similar category. You want to be giving away something useful that people will keep (and hopefully look at often). Calendars (especially those with a fridge magnet attached) are popular for this reason. Another popular idea our office uses is recipe cards. A simple piece of card, with a nice recipe (something with chocolate is a good candidate), along with our office and agent contact details. Everytime they pull out the card to cook something up, they will be reminded of who you are, what you do and how they can contact you. It is less likely to find its way into the rubbish until the recipe has been tried at least once.
